MCM art glass is a shortened form of the phrase mid-century modern art glass. It describes works of art produced out of glass by artisans working during the middle of the 20th century.
Swung glass was made in the 1960s through the 1980s and mainly in the United States, swung glass is pressed into a mold, then, while slightly cool, picked up by the “neck” and “swung” in a pendulum motion to elongate and then stylize the “mouth” of the vase, making each a unique and one-of-a-kind piece.
